Our programme emphasises practical training through real-world simulations, internships, and industry placements, allowing you to apply your classroom knowledge in dynamic hospitality environments. Placements are an integral part of your course and you鈥檒l explore placement opportunities within a range of our partners.

You will gain hands-on experience across various departments that encompass both front-of-house and back-of-house operations, including restaurant service, housekeeping, and conference and events management. These shifts may occasionally involve late finishes and weekend work, giving you the opportunity to experience all aspects of the hospitality sector.

The programme includes dedicated support for securing internships, with a strong network of industry connections that helps students gain valuable work experience and build professional relationships. On your placements you鈥檒l work, and gain experience, at an operational level in your first year and will move to more supervisory and managerial roles and capabilities in your second and third year.

How will I be taught and assessed?

On our BA (Hons) in International Hospitality Management, you鈥檒l study at our High Wycombe Campus, where you鈥檒l be able to explore the world of hospitality management. 

驰辞耻鈥檒濒 learn from a dedicated team with extensive industry experience and academic backgrounds, ensuring students receive mentorship and insights from professionals who understand the challenges and opportunities within the hospitality industry. We place a strong emphasis on developing leadership and managerial skills, preparing students to take on significant roles within the hospitality industry through workshops, team projects, and leadership training.

We also invite guest speakers to deliver sessions, so you can learn from their experiences, expertise and insights. During the programme you will spend time in the classroom learning the theoretical elements that underpin your knowledge base.

 You will also spend time in the working environment of our industry partners, gaining experience throughout the course in: reception, restaurants, housekeeping and conference and events.

BA (Hons) International Hospitality Management Programme Specification

What are the course entry requirements?

A typical offer will require a UCAS tariff score of: 88 - 112

UCAS points can be obtained through qualifications such as A levels, T levels, BTEC or an Access to Higher Education course in a relevant subject. Please list all your qualifications on the application form as you will be asked to provide copies when we receive your application.

We also accept applicants who have achieved the Access to HE Diploma (QAA approved) with 60 credits overall and 45 credits at Level 3.

As an inclusive University, we recognise that applicants who have been out of education for some time may not have the formal qualifications usually required for entry to this course. We welcome applications from those who can demonstrate their enthusiasm and commitment to study and have the relevant work experience that equips them to succeed on the course. We will assess this from the information provided in your application 鈥 in particular your personal statement - to help us decide on your eligibility for the course.

International students for whom English is a second language require an IELTS score of 6.0, with no area below 5.5 (or a recognised equivalent).

Students starting in September 2025 will have the flexibility to choose their modules in the second and third years, complemented by a subject-specific curriculum in your first year.

What are the tuition fees

  • Home, Academic Year 2025 - 2026: 拢9,535 per year *
International
  • Overseas/International, Academic Year 2025 - 2026: 拢15,150 per year *

Following the Government鈥檚 announcement of 4 November 2024, we will be increasing our full-time undergraduate tuition fees for UK students to 拢9,535 per year from the start of the 2025/26 academic year. Our part-time fees for UK undergraduate students will increase to 拢7,145 per annum. Please visit鈥, on the Government鈥檚 website, for more information about the changes. 

Tuition fees for Home undergraduate students (including with foundation year) may increase in subsequent years for both new and continuing students in line with an inflationary amount determined by the Government.鈥 

Tuition fees for both new and continuing international students may be subject to an inflationary increase based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the 12-month period to 31 January each year.鈥 

Tuition fees for postgraduate courses and CPD may be subject to an inflationary increase based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the 12-month period to 31 January each year. This increase will apply to both new and continuing students.鈥

You may also wish to stay on at Buckinghamshire New University and study a postgraduate degree, such as MSc Hospitality Leadership or MSc Hotel Innovation and Sustainability.
