Can I study in the library?
Yes, the library is open for you to study during 24/7 during semester time and our staff are here to help you during staffed hours. See our opening hours page for more details.
Can I use group study rooms?
Yes, students are able to book and use the group study rooms in the library. For your safety, rooms are limited to two people for smaller rooms and four people in larger rooms. This guide will help you .
Can I eat in the library?
Please don’t bring any hot food into the library but instead use other spaces around the Campus to take a break. You are welcome to drink cold drinks and have cold food but please be considerate towards other library users and put any rubbish in the bins provided.
Can I use library services without my student card?
You must have your card with you at all times when you are on Campus. You may not be able to use library services if you do not have your card with you. If you have lost your card or haven’t been issued with one, please speak to Student Services on Campus.
Can I borrow a laptop overnight?
At present our laptops are available to use for four hours at a time but cannot be taken off-site or borrowed overnight. Student Services may be able to help you purchase equipment you need. We welcome feedback about the laptop loans service and will review it in light of student feedback if necessary.
I am an student at the Aylesbury campus, what library resources and services are available to me?

How can I pay my library fines?
The library is not accepting cash at the moment so please pay all fines online using the .

Apply to be a member of our library
We have four different membership options and welcome applications for membership from individuals aged 18 years and over to our High Wycombe and Uxbridge libraries. Once you have found the suitable membership option please complete the .
We aim to process your membership application within two working days, please wait until you have heard back from us to confirm your successful application before visiting. After receiving a confirmation email, bring photo ID and proof of address to the campus Reception to collect your access card.
To make the most of your membership please check our prior to your visit to ensure we have the resources you need. All members are expected to abide by the .
Please note that our external memberships do not include access to the BNU network or our online resources. Guest WiFi is available to connect your own devices.
Staff and students from other UK universities can use our libraries via the SCONUL Access Scheme. You must apply to the SCONUL Access team through your own university before using BNU’s library. You will need to upload a copy of your SCONUL Access approval email when completing the application form. To do this just open the email and save it as a PDF.
SCONUL A, B and C members can borrow up to four items. SCONUL R users can access printed books and journals for reference only.
Please complete a and upload a copy of your SCONUL authorisation prior to your visit. Once we have processed your application we will be in touch; you will need to bring your home university ID card with you.
We are not currently accepting membership applications from members of the public.
BNU alumni can register for free library membership using the form above, you will need to provide your BNU student ID number. Membership allows you to borrow up to four items at a time as well as access to our library spaces.
