The Big Deal
From societies and sports to volunteering, training, workshops and great events, Bucks Students’ Union (SU) has a lot to offer, and unlike a lot of other universities, the majority of it is free - we call this The Big Deal.
Our venue
Unlike many other universities, our SU venue is on campus! Our 1,100-capacity event space has hosted some of the hottest live touring bands, renowned DJ club nights, and all kinds of other activities including comedy, theatre and exhibitions.
Societies
From boxing and running, to rocking out or flying high, you’re bound to find a society that's right for you. Even if there isn’t a society that satisfies your co-curricular cravings, we’ll help you set one up!
During my time at BNU, I took part in a range of societies and clubs including horse-riding, pole fitness, gaming, circus skills. I also went on days out that the Students’ Union arranged such as trips to London and beach cleans. The SU also provided lots of skills workshops which I was glad to take advantage of. First aid, public speaking, singing classes. They all were free and helped boost my skills and CV. I attended lots of nights out and events with the SU and because of this, I made more friends and tried new things.Juliet Salter

Whatever your level, our squads welcome you to come along and train. From football and rugby to netball and hockey, there is a team for everyone. With over 30 teams in 25 different disciplines, you’ll be able to experience games, events and social meet ups.
CV boosting
Pick up new skills to add to your CV through our range of skills-based workshops and certified courses. The best bit? It’s all free! In the past we have held sessions on public speaking, negotiation, chairing meetings, interview skills, and simply how to build your CV.
