The increasingly professionalised and globalised nature of the hospitality industry means that employers are looking for management and leadership graduates with an academically informed understanding of these sectors as well as the critical skills needed to solve a range of management-related problems.

Through a combination of academic rigour with practical engagement with innovative industry partners and applied research, our Masters in Hospitality Leadership will help equip you with the knowledge, strategic vision and competences to take a leading role in your chosen workplace.

Undertaking work experience is an integral part of the MSc (Hons) Hospitality Leadership degree. This unique approach to studying at BNU, is underlined by our core belief that practical, hands-on experience must always complement a theoretical, research-informed teaching strategy. That is why, as part of your core curriculum, in year two, you鈥檒l put your skills and knowledge into practice through an integrated internship. 

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage in co-curricular, by taking part in community projects organised in collaboration with local hotels, as well as attending guest talks, industry visits and a wide range of networking events, conferences and seminars organised by our school and our industry partners.

Our portfolio of hotel and hospitality courses are accredited and linked to some huge industry bodies. During your time studying on the Hospitality Leadership degree, you鈥檒l have access to our High Wycombe Campus. What will I learn? 

Our practice-based MSc in Hospitality Leadership can help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to bolster your career prospects in this field.

We will help you to develop your industry knowledge and professional skills by gaining valuable experience in a fully commercial hotel and other industry partner hotels alongside your studies.

Different facets of hospitality as practised within and across countries at different levels of development and within a variety of business and management cultures will be covered.

How will I be taught and assessed?

We adopt a research-informed, industry-centric teaching and learning approach. This includes classic lectures and seminars, as well innovative teaching methods such as real-world case studies, hands-on projects and practical work experience. We balance the academic requirements of a master鈥檚 degree with practical skills and industry experience. You will benefit from our strong employer, industry, and trade association links as well as case studies, debates, competitions, masterclasses, and placement opportunities with our industry partners. 

You鈥檒l learn from lecturers with years of industry and academic expertise. Many of whom are research-active, and are involved in a wide range of research areas, from green corporate reputation to sustainable hospitality management, sustainable business behaviour and customer attitude.

MSc Hospitality Leadership Programme Specification

What are the course entry requirements?

Applicants need to have a minimum of a 2.2 Bachelor degree (with Honours) in a Business, Hospitality or Events subject or equivalent overseas Bachelor鈥檚 degree recognised by BNU.

Applicants without the above may be admitted if they have a minimum of three years relevant professional work experience.  Relevant work experience includes at least a supervisory or junior management level position in the hospitality industry or professional work experience gained in another sector, but with a demonstrable link and/or connection to these sectors (e.g., museums and arts organisations, local authority leisure services)

International students for whom English is a second language require an IELTS score of 6.5, with no area below 6.0 (or a recognised equivalent).

What are the tuition fees

  • Home, Academic Year 2025 - 2026: 拢10,990 per year *
International
  • Overseas/International, Academic Year 2025 - 2026: 拢15,550 per year *

Following the Government鈥檚 announcement of 4 November 2024, we will be increasing our full-time undergraduate tuition fees for UK students to 拢9,535 per year from the start of the 2025/26 academic year. Our part-time fees for UK undergraduate students will increase to 拢7,145 per annum. Please visit鈥, on the Government鈥檚 website, for more information about the changes. 

Tuition fees for Home undergraduate students (including with foundation year) may increase in subsequent years for both new and continuing students in line with an inflationary amount determined by the Government.鈥 

Tuition fees for both new and continuing international students may be subject to an inflationary increase based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the 12-month period to 31 January each year.鈥 

Tuition fees for postgraduate courses and CPD may be subject to an inflationary increase based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the 12-month period to 31 January each year. This increase will apply to both new and continuing students.鈥 

We understand, and really appreciate, the significant financial commitment our students make when they choose to study at BNU. We take our responsibilities to our students very seriously, and are ambitious for each to reach their full potential and succeed in their chosen career. Our fees help us to continue providing our students with a high-quality education, and to invest in the services and facilities which create an excellent student experience at BNU. 

The following factors will be considered by the University when we set the annual fees: measures of inflation such as the retail price indices; projected increases in University costs; and any changes in the level of funding for teaching received from the Government.

Scholarships
