Tina Benbow
I am currently employed as Lecturer and Module Leader in the Business and Partnerships team in the school of Business and Law. This roles facilitates teaching students from Foundation level to Postgraduate, and I am also responsible for supporting six University Partners, as their Business Partner Tutor, UK based and International.
Prior to Joining Buckinghamshire New University in January 2024, I was working as a master鈥檚 dissertation supervisor at the University of Wolverhampton, supporting International Postgraduate Business Students. In addition, as a Visiting Lecturer, I supported many Lecturers facilitating their classes in the Tourism and Hospitality school sharing my experience and expertise within the sector.
My career experience within the Travel and Tourism industry has spanned over 20 years, in varied roles, which have included Key Account Management, Business Development, Partnership Management and Sales Management, thus within these roles, I was responsible for the Training and Development for over 50 members of staff, and colleagues. I have also worked for two years in the Charitable Sector, as a Relationship Manager in Philanthropy, which incorporated Event management and Hospitality at prestigious venues in London and Monaco. As an advocate and ambassador for the Charity, I was also actively involved in Corporate Networking and Public speaking, to promote the charity, which resulted in large donations, which primarily supported families and children, with additional learning needs and essential mobility equipment.
I studied for my master鈥檚 degree in strategic People Management and Human Resources, accredited with Level 7 CIPD, in which I obtained a distinction, and my BA (Hons) in Tourism Management at the University of Wolverhampton with 1st Class Hons. During this period, I actively engaged in the Women in Business Conferences, which strived to promote Equality and Diversity and Inclusion. Furthermore, during this four-year period, I also served as the Ambassador for Travel and Tourism Business School. Throughout this tenure, I represented the University at the Institute of Travel and Tourism Conference, whereby I was invited as a guest panellist, to discuss 鈥淭he barriers to being a mature student and 鈥 The potential risk of being subjected to ageism within the workplace鈥 which was delivered to an audience of over 1000 delegates, of Senior Level within the Professional Body.
I am an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Professional Development (CIPD) and Associate Fellow of Higher Education (AFHEA), and to continue my personal development, I am currently studying for a Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP).
