Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2025, I worked as a Postgraduate Research and Teaching Assistant (PGRTA) for four years as part of my PhD programme at the University of Greenwich. In this role, I was involved in teaching, personal tutoring, and supporting and supervising student projects and dissertations at foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels across various programmes in finance, accounting, economics, business, and international business. I also worked as an Associate Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University, with teaching and dissertation supervision responsibilities. Additionally, I am a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Greenwich, the University of Bedfordshire, and Oxford Brookes University.

I studied for my BSc in Banking and Finance at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. I then completed a BSc in Economics (First Class), an MSc in Finance and Investment (Distinction), and a PhD in Financial Economics at the University of Greenwich. The title of my PhD thesis is Asset Pricing, Investment Sentiment, and Machine Learning Models: Evidence from the UK and International Markets.

In addition to my academic qualifications, I hold professional certifications, including the Certificate in Business Accounting from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the CISI Level 3 Certificate in Securities (Capital Markets programme) from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). I am a member of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).

My specialist academic and research interests focus on asset pricing, financial economics, financial mathematics, behavioural economics, finance, financial reporting and analysis, investment, banking, economics, econometrics, statistics, business accounting, international finance and economics, international business, and the economics of innovation. This expertise has enabled me to teach and supervise projects and dissertations across diverse disciplines, including finance, accounting, economics, business, and international business. What excites me most is how finance and economics shape everyday realities. This intersection of theory and lived experience keeps the work dynamic.

One of my greatest achievements is inspiring students to pursue further academic and professional growth. For instance, a former student once shared that they enrolled in a PhD programme based on discussions we had during their MSc studies.
