Biography

Before I joined Buckinghamshire New University in 2023, I worked as a Registered Nurse in elderly care in the UK and have dedicated over 15 years of my career to nursing education. My journey in education began shortly after graduation when I took on the role of a clinical educator. Following the completion of my M.Sc. in Critical Care Nursing, I continued to work as a nurse educator. I remained actively involved in the hospital’s education team, delivering lectures and teaching clinical skills within the Critical Care Units. Throughout my career, I have embraced diverse roles to broaden my experience as a nurse. This included a transition into Occupational Health and later, a leadership role as a Senior Manager at a start-up. I oversaw a team of professionals in developing hybrid learning programs for nurses and led various nursing education initiatives.

I studied for my PhD in Nursing at the National Consortium for PhD (Nursing), the Indian Nursing Council. I completed my MSc. Nursing, Critical Care and BSc.(Hons) Nursing at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi.

My research interests include nursing education, with a particular focus on student and staff support, wellbeing, and the integration of evidence-based practices into teaching and clinical environments.

I find these areas particularly compelling because supporting students not only helps us achieve our goals as educators but also provides valuable insights where we can improve. A supportive learning environment impacts student outcomes and the effectiveness of our teaching. The use of evidence-based practices ensures that nursing education remains dynamic and responsive, allowing us to grow consistently as a profession.

A key highlight of my career has been independently managing a Diploma program in Critical Care Nursing, which allowed me to shape and deliver specialised education in critical care. Additionally, authoring books on burnout syndrome, nursing informatics, and nursing foundation has been a significant accomplishment, enabling me to contribute to the broader discourse on nurse education and the integration of technology in healthcare.
