Staff research poster displayed at National Intelligence History Conference

Shelley Jones‍ and Fiona Galbraith‍ from BNU's Centre for Intelligence, Security and Resilience attended the recent (NIHC) to display their poster on 'Leadership in Commercial Intelligence'.

The NIHC was held at Bletchley Park, renowned for being Britain's main codebreaking establishment during World War Two. It was jointly hosted by and , supported by the . The theme of this year's conference was 'People in Intelligence' and attendees spent the day enjoying plenary lectures, panel discussions and poster displays.

Shelley and Fiona's research poster aims to enhance operational efficiency and client experiences in the commercial intelligence sector by offering 'The Integrated Intelligence Service Model' as a guide for intelligence practitioners. 

The research project is being conducted with , a commercial security risk advisor offering their client base as the research population. Interviewees include a Global Risk Analyst, Head of Oversees Visits, Global Security and Travel Risk Manager, Director of Health, Safety and Business Continuity and Campaigns Director. The collated interview data unveiled three themes: the ghost cycle, power gradient and communication vs process.

Reflecting on the experience, Fiona said:

“Working with Peregrine Risk Management to develop our research was such a pleasure; they are a really interesting scaling business at the forefront of a new generation of commercial intelligence providers. To then have the opportunity to present our research at the birthplace of modern intelligence is such a professional highlight. We do hope this will lead to further knowledge transfer partnerships between the BNU Centre for Intelligence, Security and Resilience and other sector businesses."
