Dr Sharmin Chowdhury

Biography

My teaching career commenced after completing my LLM (International Business Law) at University of Manchester. I began to teach law at Buckinghamshire New University in October 2024. Previously I taught at Royal Holloway University of London in English Legal System, Law of Contract, EU law; and International and Comparative Human Rights Law.  I also taught Law of Contract, Criminal Law and Law of Tort at Brunel University London. I worked as a Research Assistant at Brunel University London under Dr Patricia Hobbs in a research project in International Criminal Law, which was funded by British Academy Small Grants.

My PhD research was in European Law in the context of minority protection, at Brunel University London. I was awarded the Dean’s Prize for Innovation and Impact in Doctoral Research by the Brunel University Law School. I have disseminated my Doctoral research at various conferences including international conferences. I have also published a peer-reviewed scholarly article from my PhD research in International Journal on Minority and Group Rights. I am a lifelong Associate Fellow of the Advance HE.
