Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in January 2024, I lectured in Textile Design at Arts University Bournemouth (AUB). Before I began working in Higher Education, I worked as a designer in the Fashion & Textiles industry, which provides me with recent industry knowledge to inform my teaching. This included designing luxury silk fabrics for high-end Fashion labels, in addition to working for a well-known British brand. My work in Design also included experience in Product Development, and travel overseas. As a result of my varied industry experiences, I strive to embed professional knowledge into my educational practice.

I have two master’s degrees, including a MA Textile Design Innovation and most recently, a MEd from the University of Cambridge. I also hold a PGCE from the University of Cambridge, and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), awarded by the Department for Education. This is in addition to a first-class BA (Hons) Textiles: Innovation and Design, with a Diploma in Professional Studies (DPS), from Loughborough University, where I specialised in Printed Textile Design.
