I am a polymath – an experienced researcher, published author, pedagogist, artist and architect. At BNU my role is transdisciplinary and connective, working collaboratively to implement our research strategy and leading research projects that can create impact.

Before becoming the new Research and Impact Lead in 2024, I was the Deputy Head of School for Art, Design and Performance at BNU. Before joining BNU in 2023 I was an Associate Professor and the founding Head of Architecture at the University of Suffolk where I led the BA (Hons) Architecture degree (ARB Part 1) and the research strand of Design at the Suffolk Sustainability Institute. Between 2020 and 2021 I served as Chair of Education for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) East Region.

I qualified at the world renowned National Technical University of Athens (2007) and practiced architecture before receiving an MA Fine Art (2010) and completing one of the first practice-based PhDs in the Creative Arts at the Centre of Spatial Analysis and Intervention UCA Canterbury for the University of Brighton (2015). I am a Fellow of the RSA and a Senior Fellow of AdvanceHE.

My latest research is a cross-institutional project with award winning novelist Dr Amanda Hodgkinson on the ecologies and pedagogies of domestic cleaning rituals examined through architecture and poetry. Our work “Spring Cleaning” attracted more than 2,000 visitors as part of the Bodfa Continuum exhibition and Bodfa History project (Wales, 2022), and was presented at the Royal Academy of Arts ACT Symposium for the London Festival of Architecture (London, 2022).

In 2020 I was a finalist at the International Greek Women’s Awards in the Category of Design and in 2022 I published the monograph  as part of the Routledge series Rethinking Education.

My next book Site-Reliant Immersive Experiences: Affective Spaces in Art and Architecture is coming out in 2025 by Bloomsbury Academic.
