Staff Profile

Florence Mujuru
Before joining Buckingham New University in 2022 as a Senior Lecturer (CBT), I was a Senior Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and Supervision Lead (East Service) for Talking Therapies within NHS. My role was providing cognitive behavioural therapy to clients, responsible for co-ordinating the supervision arrangements and training for the team (East Service), delivery of clinical supervision, and line management to practitioners within the service. I also delivered Pipp Care to GP’s, Practice Nurses, and other professionals. I was involved in organising and presenting the Stress Control Workshops as well as training staff to present. I was also involved in promoting and maintaining links with Primary and Secondary Care staff to help co-ordinate the provision of an effective Psychological Therapies Service and carrying out audits as required.
I studied for a MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at BNU, BSc in Nursing at Dundee University and Advanced Diploma in Mental Health Nursing at West London University.
I have extensive clinical experience working with complex mental health difficulties in Secondary Care, Primary Care, and private practice settings.
After qualifying as a mental health nurse, I held various positions which included senior nurse, clinical team leader and mentor.
I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and Registered Mental Health Nurse. I am a member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists, HEA, Nursing and Midwifery Council and Royal College of Nursing.
My interests include issues related to training, supervision, and couple therapy.
