Anne-Marie Fadare

Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2024, I worked independently as a specialist occupational therapist with a focus on moving and handling, alongside providing medicolegal consultancy and expert witness services.

I have been working in the NHS and wider healthcare sector for over 20 years, having held a variety of clinical managerial roles that have shaped my specialist practice in occupational therapy. My main area of interest is moving and handling, through which I have developed extensive experience supporting individuals with complex physical needs, delivering professional training, and contributing to medicolegal assessments across a range of cases.

My commitment to occupational therapy has also led to the development of a dedicated occupational therapy department within a national charity, supporting young adults with a mental health background to gain the skills and confidence needed to pursue careers in the media industry an initiative that successfully integrated therapeutic support with vocational development.

I am a member of the National Back Exchange, the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and I remain actively engaged in advancing practice standards and policy within the profession.

My greatest professional satisfaction lies in the combination of clinical practice and education sharing knowledge, supporting student growth, and continuing to contribute meaningfully to both frontline therapy and academic development.
