Free student parking pilot announced!

We’re hearing from our commuter students that getting to campus can be a struggle. Public transport can’t always be relied upon to attend teaching sessions on time. And some learners need to drop their children at childcare or school on the way to university.

From 3 March, BNU students will have use of a dedicated car park from Monday to Friday, and access to other spaces at weekends.

The High Wycombe free student parking pilot is just one of the ways we work together with Bucks Students’ Union to act upon what our students tell us.

Through our partnership, we’ve already made good strides in finding ways to help our learners cope with the cost-of-living crisis. Our award-winning response includes hardship grants, subsidised/ free meals and The Big Deal initiative to ensure students survive and thrive at BNU.

It’s important to us that everyone has an equal opportunity to develop friendships, participate in co-curricular activities, and make the most of our facilities.

We want all students to realise the full benefits of their university experience, and we’ll be reviewing the parking pilot to help us plan opportunities at other campus locations.

We’re proud to be the principal funder of the SU and of the great work it does. Last year, our £1.9 million grant funded The Big Deal as well as the Union’s staffing and operational costs. And we’ve recently upgraded the SU’s minibus fleet to ensure students travel to and from all co-curricular and social activities in comfort!
