Film and TV students at BNU add Wycombe Wanderers FC to their portfolio
Students in BNU's School of Creative and Digital Industries have collaborated with Wycombe Wanderers Football Club on a film highlighting the environmental sustainability work being done by the club.
Film & TV Production students Daniel Charlton, Patryk Smus, Tomasz Wojtunek, Samuel Mayne and Luke Amatruder filmed and edited the project, with direction and hosting from David Wheeler, Wanderers midfielder and the club鈥檚 first ever Sustainability Champion.
The film details the efforts being made across the club鈥檚 Adams Park stadium and Marlow Road training base to enhance their green credentials.
Wheeler said: 鈥淚 felt 鈥 together with the club 鈥 that we needed to tell the story of the great work that has been carried out across the club over the last few years to improve our sustainability and we were delighted to collaborate with Buckinghamshire New University students to bring the idea to life.
鈥淲e launched our first ever sustainability strategy earlier this year and are pleased to now be able to demonstrate a lot of the recent developments and how they have benefitted the environment as well as the club, in terms of reducing our emissions, energy consumption and costs.
鈥淚鈥檇 like to thank the students for their contributions to our short film and hope as many people as possible can take the time to watch the video and give extra consideration to the role they can play in their day to day life when it comes to looking after the environment.鈥
Carson Black, Senior Lecturer in BNU鈥檚 School of Creative and Digital Industries, said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e really grateful to Wycombe Wanderers for working with our students on this project which helps them to develop professionally and build their portfolio. It鈥檚 been a tremendous success and it鈥檚 great to see our students鈥 work being used on the club鈥檚 official channels.
鈥淭his module within our BA (Hons) Film and TV Production course sees our students working directly for a business or agency outside of the University on live briefs, producing work to a client鈥檚 satisfaction. They work independently in teams in a professional setting to produce a film or series of films for the client.
鈥淥ur student also created films for other local organisations including NHS, Bucks Fire & Rescue Service, Thames Valley Police and many small businesses around Buckinghamshire and beyond.鈥
