Katie Pusey's story
Why did you choose to study at Buckinghamshire New University?
Personally it was close and easy to commute to and from either via car or by public transport. The course had also had good reviews, and it was clearly explained on the website what you would be learning in each year.
What do you love most about studying at Buckinghamshire New University?
My fellow classmates had a massive impact. I loved going in knowing that i was going to be surrounded by a lovely bunch and everyone was happy to help each other when needed.
What do you think Buckinghamshire New University offers you that other universities do not?
Each lecturer offered different insights and knowledge to share within the subject which made for some great diversity. You also offered a lot of different opportunities throughout the course.
Why would you recommend your course?
The support I received from all members of staff was brilliant. They always seemed to have your best interest at heart and always wanted to help. The opportunities Sports Therapy provided were great. You had loads of different placements to choose from such as clinical placements to working with different sports team. You also had a wide variety of different modules you would learn across each year. When exam season was coming up, you were always given plenty of notice and prep time.
Are there any additional details about your experience you would like to provide?
I was one of the years that was affected by Covid-19 and got affected by both lockdowns while studying on a practical course. A time when initially when no one knew what was going to happen. And throughout that time the Sports Therapy team literally went above and beyond to support us and guide us through a very difficult time even when they themselves didn’t know what was going to happen and it’s something that still to this day, I am extremely grateful and thankful for. Although we were affected by the pandemic, I still loved my time at the University and still stay in contact with the lectures.
