Staff Profile

Dr Ismail Fakhro
Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2019, I worked as an architect and project manager across various countries, gaining extensive experience in international design and construction projects. I completed my PhD in Sustainable Architecture at The University of Nottingham, where I focused on environmentally responsible and resource-efficient building practices that address global challenges such as climate change and urbanization.
I am a proud member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), and my specialist knowledge has afforded me the opportunity to collaborate with universities such as Bath Spa on projects including program development and lecturing in Construction Management.
A career highlight to date has been serving as an Associate Lecturer, where I have been able to share my expertise and passion for sustainable architecture with the next generation of professionals.
