Biography

Prior to joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2020 I was a police officer serving in a busy Metropolitan force. My main roles included incident response, community and roads Policing, Special Plain Clothes (anti vice unit) operational support, Criminal Investigation (CID) and force training. While seconded to the Central Police Training and Development Authority as a District Police Training Manager I was responsible for all aspects of student officer and centre staff experience, and centre performance.

I studied for my Masters in Education at Birmingham City University where I developed a broad interest in education.  After retirement I worked at Teesside and Anglian Ruskin Universities before moving to Buckingham New University.  My specialist knowledge has enabled me to work with clients such as the Belgian Technical Corporation, the Kigali Institute of Education, the Rwanda National Police Service and Hong Kong Institution of Technology.  My in-depth knowledge of policing has enabled me to co-author several textbooks and journal articles in the policing field. I also work as a College of Policing Associate writing examination questions for the Sergeant, Inspector and National Investigators’ promotion process.
