Dr. Andrew Asamoah Kyeremeh

Biography

Before joining Mount Vernon Cancer Centre as a Clinical Fellow in 2023, I gained extensive experience in clinical practice, medical education, and public health research. My journey began with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MB ChB) from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, and later, a Master of Public Health specializing in Epidemiology, Medical Statistics, and Designing Real-World Trials from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.

Throughout my career, I have been deeply involved in clinical and public health research, focusing on improving patient outcomes and advancing healthcare practices. As part of my masters, I led a study at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary evaluating the implementation of the Annalise CXR model, designing the research protocol, conducting statistical analysis, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. This work culminated in a successful presentation at the European Society of Radiologists’ ECR Congress 2023 in Vienna, Austria.

Additionally, my research in Pediatric Oncology at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital in Ghana, West Africa involved conducting data analysis to identify trends in patient outcomes and improve case management practices. Earlier in my career, while at the University of Cape Coast, I developed statistical models using SPSS to assess the prevalence of foodborne infections and helminthic diseases among children. My research efforts led to the development of preventive measures and treatment referrals in rural Ghana.

In my current role as a medical doctor, I continue to contribute to evidence-based medical education and research, focusing on integrating the latest scientific findings into clinical practice. My collaborations with leading institutions, interdisciplinary teams, and healthcare professionals have allowed me to bridge the gap between clinical care and innovative research.

I am currently pursuing my PhD with Buckinghamshire New University where I am also actively involved in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. My research aims to explore novel approaches in treatment protocols and patient support strategies to enhance recovery and quality of life for cancer patients. This PhD aligns with my passion for bridging the gap between public health and clinical practice, using innovative research to drive patient-centered care.
