Clearing Myth Busting
Clearing Myth Busting
Here at BNU we’re here to help bust the myths and preconceptions that surround Clearing and put any concerns you may have at ease.
So, whatever your reasons for applying to university through Clearing, just remember that it really is just another way to kick-start your future.
Absolutely not! There are many reasons why students decide to go through Clearing, from changing their mind about the course or university they previously decided on, to getting better grades than expected or because things didn’t quite go to plan in their exams. Going through Clearing is a great opportunity for you to explore your options and take control of your future.
While we celebrate everyone who comes through our doors, via Clearing or not, this information is not shared with your peers. It is up to you if you want to tell any other students! Either way we’re sure that you’ll fit in at BNU.
If you are ready to jump into further education, ignite your passion for your desired course and put in the work and time for success, university is right for you. Coming through Clearing doesn’t change any of that, and we know you’ll strive to reach your goals just as much as the next student.
Of course not! We don’t want anyone studying something they don’t want to, we want you to thrive and grow into future change-makers, and to do this we know you must find your passion! With Clearing you can re-think your direction and pick a new available course.
While you won’t be able to apply for the same course, there will be other options open to you. The best thing to do is to call our Clearing Hotline on 0330 123 2023 where a friendly member of staff will be able to advise, just let them know your situation and they’d be happy to talk you through your options.
Before you get in touch with us, you need to make sure you have the following information ready to give our staff so we can get started on your Clearing application:
- Your UCAS or application ID
- Your A-Level Grades (or equivalent)
- Your GCSE Grades (or equivalent)
- Any course or subject areas you may be interested in
- Any questions you have for our team.
We understand that during this time emotions are going to be running high, but please don’t worry. Our friendly staff are here to help you, we’ll be on the other end of the line, ready to take some breaths with you and support you as we figure out what’s really going to be the best option for you.
Firstly, don’t panic! Like you, many other students will also be coming to BNU through Clearing, so our lines are often busy. We suggest that you keep trying until you do. Make sure your phone is fully charged, and you have all the information you need ready to go for when you do get through.
Alternatively, you can always fill out our Clearing enquiry form and someone will be in touch with you as soon as possible. We also offer a call back service on results day, to access this offer all you need to do is sign up to our Clearing Priority Club (launching soon).
Not to worry, we totally understand that phone calls aren’t for everyone. That’s why we’ve created alternative ways to make it easy for you to get in touch - you can WhatsApp us, email us or even fill out a Clearing enquiry form.
If you accept a spot on one of our courses and apply for accommodation before the 31 August 2025, we guarantee a place in one of our halls of residence. Whilst after this date we try to get all our students into university accommodation, this is not something we can promise. We’d advise looking at our accommodation page and reaching out to the team for support.
You’ll be given plenty of time to have a think before having to make a decision on your offer. We also suggest you use this time to browse the course page a little more and have a look at the other perks to becoming a BNU student.
