At Buckinghamshire New University (BNU), the Centre for Excellence in Health Inequalities (CEHI) is dedicated to tackling one of the most pressing public health challenges of our time - health disparities. CEHI serves as a hub for innovative research, impactful advocacy, and meaningful community engagement, driving solutions that promote health equity locally, nationally, and globally.
What we do
- Conduct multidisciplinary research to identify and address social, economic, and environmental determinants of health disparities.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research to improve access, experience and health outcomes.
- Provide training and capacity building for the next generation of health inequality researchers and practitioners.
- Advocate for evidence-based policies and interventions that improve health outcomes in marginalised populations.

Why CEHI?
Health inequalities are exacerbated by factors such as socioeconomic status, ethnicity, and access to healthcare services. CEHI unites experts from diverse fields - including nursing and midwifery, public health, psychology, digital studies, and social sciences - to address these challenges comprehensively.
Our partnerships with NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Systems, local authorities, community and international organisations ensure that our research is informed by real-world needs and delivers tangible benefits to those who need it most.
