Rachael Cornwall
I have significant experience in Human Resources in the higher education sector and joined BNU as Director of HR in 2021. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Personal and Development with an MA in Strategic HR Management. Prior to joining the HE sector I worked for Professional Service firms Ernst & Young and PriceWaterhouseCoopers in specialist HR roles. Before this I worked in logistics and buying/merchandising in several retailers Head Offices (FMCG, Fashion and Grocery) which ignited a passion for good customer service.
As Chief People Officer I am accountable for employee relations; reward and recognition; organisational change; corporate learning and development; recruitment and selection.
Outside of BNU, I am on the board of an FE college and undertake equality charter review work.
Rachael became a member of the University Strategy Group in February 2025.
